Amy undertook a pupillage at Devon Chambers between October 2015 and September 2016. Following a successful 3rd six pupillage at St Ives Chambers in Birmingham, she chose to return to the West Country to practise and accepted an invitation to join Devon Chambers as a tenant in April 2017.

She has developed a very busy practice in all areas of family law, with particular emphasis on children law. She has appeared on behalf of the local authority and parents in contested public and private law matters, from directions hearings to fully contested 'finding of fact' hearings. She has a burgeoning reputation amongst local solicitors as an advocate who is always prepared to "fight the corner" on behalf of those for whom she is instructed.

In addition to her family work, Amy is also instructed in other areas of law which complement this practice. She has appeared in Parole Hearings and is regularly instructed to represent patients in Mental Health Review Tribunals.

Her criminal practice commenced in the Magistrates Court, in which she appeared on behalf of both the Prosecution and the Defence, and has now progressed to the Crown Court. She is a grade 1 prosecutor on the Crown Prosecution Service Advocates Panel and has conducted trials in the Crown Court for the Defence. Her practical approach means that she is especially suited to representing young defendants and those suffering learning difficulties.

She is routinely instructed by local authorities to advise on regulatory matters, with a particular emphasis upon environmental protection offences, noise abatement matters and trading standards infringements.

Amy is passionate about the development and recruitment of young talent at the Bar and, to that end, she has recently taken on the role of Pupillage Officer at Devon Chambers.
