Devon Chambers firmly believes that on many occasions various methods of alternative Dispute Resolution can reach a more mutually satisfactory conclusion than a contested hearing.
We offer accredited mediation. The aim is that the disputants have the opportunity to put forward their side of the story and discuss what it would take for them to feel the problem has been resolved. In the majority of cases this leads to an agreed settlement, saving individuals and companies the expense and distress of attending Court and giving evidence, as well as avoiding the risk of a sometimes unpredictable outcome.
The mediator is not a Judge. The legal merits of each argument will not be commented upon, and no indication of a likely outcome in the event of litigation will be given. This is an opportunity for discussion and resolution.
At Devon Chambers we can provide conference rooms for the mediations to take place, or we are willing to travel to any reasonable location which the parties agree upon.
